Scriptures For Anxiety

The Bible is God’s Word, his voice, and can be a great comfort to you if you are full of fear and anxiety. I’ve listed some awesome scriptures you can read, meditate on, and say out loud to help ease your anxiety. Jesus loves you. You are his child. He doesn’t want you to live under the burdening weight of fear and worry. If you would like to listen to these scriptures you can click on the link below for a video of them read out loud.

Recognize you have authority. You are not powerless to the enemy’s schemes that employ worry and fear. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not you who holds the power but the one who lives inside of you. You don’t have to cower and be bullied by Satan anymore.

I know it can be a struggle remembering you have authority and you can feel very small and helpless at times. But you can always turn to God’s word to instill more confidence in yourself. There are many verses on authority for the believer in the Bible, here are two: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19.

Another one of my favorites is Luke 10:19 which says, “Behold I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”

Here are your verses for conquering anxiety and fear. These are taken from the English Standard Version of the Bible.

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

1 Peter 5:6-7

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Philippians 4:4-7

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everthing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Psalms 86:7

In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me.

Psalms 34:4-5

I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Matthew 6:25-34

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Psalms 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

2 Timothy 1:7

For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Hebrews 13: 5-6

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Psalms 94:19

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 12:10

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calmities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Luke 12:32

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Isaiah 26:3-4

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Psalms 91:4-7

He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noon day. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

If you would like the gift of free salvation and everlasting life in heaven given by our Lord Jesus, it’s really easy – just say this simple prayer below:

Dear Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins. I am truly sorry and wish for my soul to be fully cleansed. I believe you are the Son of God and died for me on the cross. Please come into my heart to live forever. I ask this in your mighty name. Amen.
