Is it just me or do a lot of people seem hopeless these days, especially the younger generation? This makes me so sad. Teens and young adults have their entire lives ahead of them. Shouldn’t they be filled with wishes, dreams, and the expectations of amazing things for their future? But let’s not single out just one generation.

I see the lack of hope in all ages, a dark fog lingers around them stealing their joy and weighing them down. Is this you? Are you in despair and searching for any glimpse of hope? I think we all have our moments. I have. But that feeling doesn’t have to stay. It doesn’t have to become who you are – where you live down deep.

Unfortunately, the depression and suicide rates are climbing. This is not God’s will. The enemy, the devil loves sadness and death. He thrives on it. God wants you to be happy and to live a great life overflowing with peace and joy. It’s all in his word.

I believe no matter what age you are you can be filled with an endless hope, a hope that enlivens your soul, makes you want to jump out of bed even if it’s dark and the day ahead seems difficult. You can have this endless hope, especially if you have a relationship with Jesus and he lives in your heart. He can be your hope. You can look forward to an abundant life here on earth and in the life after this when you know him.

How do you get to know him? Ask him to come into your life and live in your heart, pray to him, and talk to him just like you would to a friend. Find contentment in his Word. Reading and meditating on the Lord’s scriptures will help you tremendously. Read, even if it’s just one scripture a day.

The Bible was written many years ago, but its content still applies to our concerns and to our lives today. His Word can be therapy for your soul. It is a living thing.

For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
