20 Reminders Your Miracle May Be Right Around the Corner

“Stop, stop begging and start believing.” These are the exact words I heard, not with my ears but my spirit. And it was as clear and as real as I am here writing this. I will never forget it and how it strengthened my faith more than I would ever know.

You see, I had just gotten the news that my dad had only a 5% chance of living. There was complications after his heart surgery. Needless to say my family and I were feeling hopeless. But my dad had many people praying for him.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t have faith – I thought he was going to die and in desperation I was crying and begging God to save him. But in my moment of weakness and despair, Jesus showed up. I know it was him, and I’m certain it was his voice. After a dire prognosis my dad was healed. He is alive and well today. You can have your miracle too!

Are you losing hope? Are you looking for that miracle you’ve been praying for and feel it may never come? The one you feel like you’ve been seeking for months maybe years? Maybe it’s financial, mental or physical healing, relationship, or business related. Are you feeling discouraged because you feel like you’re never going to get your miracle from God?

God hears you. He loves you so much. Nothing is impossible for him because he is all knowing, all powerful. He can turn things around for you, instantly! There is nothing he cannot do. Jeremiah 32:17 says, “Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.”

It’s easy to get impatient while you’re waiting for your miracle, but what if God’s answer isn’t “no” – what if it’s just “not yet.” Your miracle could be right around the corner, literally. Maybe God is waiting for you.

Take the first step and show him you have immovable faith even though the enemy may be telling you it’s never going to happen. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Show God you trust him and have faith in him. Believe the answer to your miracle is yes! Your strong faith will move God and can turn things around for you. But I know, faith can be difficult especially if you feel like the world is crumbling around you.

But here is the answer to increase your faith and make it strong. According to Romans 10:17, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” If you read God’s word every day, your faith will grow.

And John 8:31-32 says, “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my Word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Reading, studying, and meditating on God’s Word will make you feel empowered. It will free you from the worries and anxieties of life. It will supercharge your faith.

The New Testament tells of the 37 miracles that Jesus performed during his ministry on earth. So, to help you build your faith, instill hope, and remind you just how powerful Jesus is, I have listed 20 of the 37.

According to the disciple John, there were many more miraculous things done by Christ. He says in John 21:25, “Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.”

The common denominators in these miraculous accounts are faith and belief. These are key! This is the biggest takeaway from this article. Grasp it, hold it deep within your heart. Believe in your mind, believe in your heart, believe with your mouth, say the words that you believe your miracle will come to pass just like they did when Jesus performed them on earth.

I encourage you to read and study all the miracles of Jesus. Meditate on the wonder and amazement of them, it will transform your faith and open your eyes to the miracle awaiting you.

#1 Jesus Walks on Water, Matthew 14:22-23 ESV

This miracle can be found in Mathew 14:22-23, Mark 6:45-52, and John 6:16-21. Jesus wanted to spend some alone time with God, so he sent his twelve disciples across the Sea of Galilee by boat. A huge storm blew up around them and they were even more terrified when they saw Jesus approaching them by walking on the water.

They thought he was a ghost. Jesus wanted his disciples, along with us, to recognize him in our storm and to focus on him when we feel like we are losing control in the whirlwinds of life. He is bigger than your storm.

#2 Jesus Raises a Widow’s Son from the Dead

Luke 7:11-17, Jesus was visiting a town called Nain. As he and his disciples were entering the gate of the city a man who had died was being carried out. Jesus soon learned that the man was the only son of a widow. He saw her weeping uncontrollably and had compassion for her.

It was a very patriarchal world during the time of Jesus in the Bible, so the life of a woman who lost her husband and any sons would have a bleak outlook. Jesus knew this, he touched the bier and said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” Then the dead man sat up and spoke.

#3 Jesus Turns Water into Wine

John 2:1-11, This was the first miracle performed by Jesus. He was attending a wedding in Cana with some of his disciples and his mother, Mary. Providing an extravagant meal was an important custom of Jewish weddings. Unfortunately, they ran out of wine. Mary turned to Jesus as she believed he had the power to fix this.

Running out of wine would be a huge humiliation to the bride and groom that would have followed them the rest of their lives. Jesus told the servants to fill six stone water jars that each held 20-30 gallons. Once they did he turned the water to wine. That is a lot of wine! Jesus can fix anything in your life, even if it may seem trivial.

#4 Jesus Heals an Official’s Son in Capernaum, John 4:43-54

A man whose son was very ill heard that Jesus had come from Judea so he hurried to meet him and ask that he heal his dying son. The man believed Jesus could heal his son if he came back to his home and laid hands on the boy. Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.”

When the man returned home he found his son alive and well. His servants told him the time the child began to get better. It was the same time Jesus said the words “he will live.” He is very willing and capable of healing you or your loved one as well.

#5 Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Paralyzed Servant in Capernaum, Matthew 8:5-13

A centurion who is an officer in the Roman Army came to Jesus. He was distressed over one of his servants suffering and being paralyzed. Jesus said he would go with him and heal his servant, but the centurion said he was not worthy and all Jesus had to do was say the word and the servant would be healed.

Jesus was amazed at the centurion’s great faith and acknowledged it vocally. Because the centurion believed, his servant was healed at that moment. Jesus still heals today.

#6 Jesus Calms a Storm on the Sea of Galilee, Luke 8:22-25

Jesus and his disciples climbed aboard a boat and he said, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” As they were sailing across, Jesus fell asleep and a huge storm blew up over the lake. Water began to fill the boat. I have been to the Sea of Galilee; the tour guide did tell us that storms can spring up quickly because the lake sits so low and is surrounded by mountains.

The disciples were terrified and woke Jesus up telling him they were going to die. Jesus commanded the wind and waves to stop. Everything was then calm. He said to his disciples, “Where is your faith?” They were amazed by his  act of controlling the weather and calming the storm. He can calm your storm instantly, as well.

#7 Jesus Heals a Woman in the Crowd with a Bleeding Disorder, Mark 5:25-34

There was a woman who had a bleeding disorder for twelve years. This could be a devastating disease because during this time of the Bible a woman who was bleeding was considered “unclean” and anyone who touched her would be deemed unclean. Jesus arrived and there was a crowd surrounding him.

This woman knew if she could get to him she would be healed so she pressed through the crowd and touched Jesus’ garment. She had powerful strength. With that touch, she was immediately healed.

Jesus turned because he felt the power go out of him and asked who touched him. She was afraid but told him it was her. Jesus replied, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your disease.” Press in close to Jesus, he can make your miracle come to life. We should all strive to have faith like this woman, to push through are circumstances and obstacles, and just believe.

#8 Jesus Raises Jairus’ Daughter Back to Life, Luke 8:40-42, 49-46

A man named Jairus approached Jesus at the same time the woman with the issue of blood was healed. He was the ruler of the synagogue whose twelve-year-old daughter was dying. He begged Jesus to come to his house and heal her.

But someone from Jairus’ house approached and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.” But Jesus responded, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.” Jesus went to the house, took her hand and said, “Child, arise.” And she awoke at once. Nothing is too big that Jesus can’t handle.

#9 Jesus Heals Two Blind Men, Matthew 9:27-31

As Jesus was going about his teaching and performing miracles, two blind men were following him asking him to have mercy on them. Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They replied, “Yes, Lord.” Jesus touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith be it done to you.” The blind men were immediately healed. Have great faith! It will be life-changing.

#10 Jesus Heals an Invalid at Bethesda, John 5:1-15

Jesus arrived in Jerusalem and was visiting the pool of Bethesda. This was a healing pool. Many sick and disabled people came to the pool for healing but only the first one to enter the pool after the angel stirred the water would be healed. One man, who was an invalid, had sat at the pool for 38 years. Jesus approached him and asked if he wanted to be healed.

The man replied that no one would put him in the pool. There was always somebody going in before him. Jesus said, “Take up your bed, and walk.” He performed this miracle on the Sabbath which was considered unlawful to do on the holy day, and the Jews persecuted him. But Jesus would not hold back his compassion or power to heal this man. Don’t forget, he has the same compassion for you.

#11 Jesus Feeds 5,000 Plus Women and Children, Luke 9:10-17

Word of Jesus’ miracles was spreading quick and large crowds began to form and follow him. One of these crowds Jesus came upon had 5000 men along with women and children. Jesus felt for them as they were hungry for his teaching and physically hungry.

He told his disciples they needed to feed all of them, but all they had was a boy’s lunch that contained five barley loaves and two fish. Jesus took the loaves and fish, thanked the Father, then multiplied the food to feed every last person there. Always be thankful to the Lord and wait for your miracle.

#12 Jesus Walks on Water, Mark 6:45-52

After Jesus fed the 5000 plus, he wanted to go up into the mountains to pray and be alone with God. He sent his disciples to their boat to cross to the other side of the lake where he would meet them later. They listened to him and as they were traveling across, another tumultuous storm rained down on them.

Jesus saw this and walked out onto the water. He meant to pass them and calm the waters, but they saw him and were terrified. They thought Jesus was a ghost. He called out to them, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” Immediately the wind and rain ceased, and he climbed into the boat with them. Let Jesus come into your boat and take over the storm you are dealing with.

#13 Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead in Bethany, John 11:1-45

Jesus was friends with a man named Lazarus and with his two sisters, Martha and Mary. He loved them very much. Lazarus became very ill, so one of the sisters called for Jesus to come. Jesus was in another town and said, “This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

He waited two days then went to Bethany. Martha came up to Jesus crying, she told Jesus he came too late that Lazarus had already died.

Jesus wept as he was moved in his spirit by the tears of Martha and Mary and the other Jews who were mourning the death of Lazarus. He told Martha to take him to the tomb where Lazarus had been buried for four days.

Jesus miraculously raised him from the dead and said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”

Jesus performed this miracle because he loved Lazarus and his sisters, and he wanted to display the glory of God.

#14 Jesus Restores Sight to Bartimaeus, Luke 18:35-43

Jesus was coming into Jericho where a crowd was forming around him. A blind man named Bartimaeus was sitting along the road begging and called out asking why a crowd was forming.

They told him Jesus was passing by, so he began crying out to Jesus to have mercy on him. The crowd reprimanded him telling him to be quiet.

But compassionate Jesus heard his cry and drew Bartimaeus near and asked him what he wanted him to do for him. Bartimaeus asked Jesus to recover his sight. And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” Jesus hears your cry over the crowd. All his attention is on you when you call out to him.

#15 Jesus Heals a Servant’s Severed Ear While Being Arrested, Luke 22:50-51

Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane praying and agonizing over his impending suffering and death when Judas, one of the twelve, came with a crowd. He had gone to the chief priests and officers and offered to betray Jesus for their money. When the officers came to take Jesus in the Garden a scuffle ensued with swords drawn and Peter cut the ear off of the high priest’s servant.

Jesus said, “No more of this!” And he touched his ear and healed him. These men were against Jesus, there to take him but he showed compassion and nonresistance. Remember, there is nothing too bad that you can do to make God stop loving you.

#16 Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers, Luke 17:11-19

Jesus was headed to Jerusalem and came to a village between Samaria and Galilee. There were ten lepers calling out to Jesus from a distance. Leprosy was a horrible disease at the time of Christ.

Those who suffered with it lived with shame and isolation. Whenever a leper neared other people they had to yell out “unclean.” Jesus said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As they started walking they were healed.

#17 Jesus Heals a Deaf Man, Mark 7:31-37

Jesus returned to the Se of Galilee from the region of Tyre where a crowd brought a man who was deaf and had a speech impediment. They begged Jesus to heal him. Jesus took the deaf man aside and put his fingers on his ears and then on his tongue. Next, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Be opened.” And the man was completely healed.

#18 Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Daughter, Matthew 15:21-28

While Jesus was visiting the district of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman approached him begging that he heal her demon-oppressed daughter. The Canaanites were looked down upon by the Jews, and the disciples asked Jesus to send her away.

Jesus challenged her at first, but she pressed in with her request. Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” Her daughter was instantaneously healed. Pray diligently, press in, and don’t take no for an answer. Faith equals power when it comes to praying for your miracle.

#19 Jesus Casts Demons out of a Man and Into a Herd of Pigs, Mark 5:1-20

Jesus encountered a demon-possessed man as he was stepping out the boat. The man lived among the tombs and had superhuman strength. Others had tried to subdue him with chains and shackles, but he would break them to pieces.

Jesus proclaimed, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” And the spirits left him and went into a herd of pigs nearby. The man was healed and made whole. If you are born again with Jesus living inside of you, you have the same power to cast out demons. You have authority.

#20 Jesus Heals Peter’s Mother-in-Law Who was Sick with Fever, Luke 4:38-39

Jesus was in Capernaum teaching, casting out demons, and healing the sick. He left the synagogue one day and went to Peter’s mother-in-law’s house. He found her very sick with a high fever.

Jesus rebuked the fever as he stood over her and she was instantly healed. She got up immediately and began to make food for Jesus and the disciples. You can rebuke your problems, sickness, and defeats with the authority you possess under Jesus Christ.

You may be going through something tough right now, something unpleasant, and unfair. It’s uncomfortable and maybe has even thrown you into despair. But don’t lose faith. Things could turn around for you in a split second.

Jesus performed these miracles thousands of years ago, he can perform them for you now. Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Your miracle may be so close you just have to reach out and take it. Always, always have faith – it’s the most important thing you can do to get closer to God and change your life for the better.
